Fake Fingers Used to Test Fingerprint Readers

The use of fingerprints to unlock cell phones, computers, financial transactions and other purposes continues to increase. With that increased use can the fingers or fingerprints be faked? Michigan State University is working on creating fake fingers to test the resiliency of these systems. The fake fingers are being created with as many properties of human skin as possible.
